Public service from a conductor

Because Metra is a governmentally funded business it is not very diversity friendly. I would like to know how it is while a loud African-American gentlemen is on the same train car as a loud white gentleman is and yet an African-American conductor tells the white gentleman to keep it down but does not address the African-American. Where I come from that's racism. But I understand the government protects the African Americans. I just find it very disgraceful that we cannot be in a world where color doesn't matter.

I am like the title "pissed!" I walked out the bathroom and a Metra Maintenance Worker was standing in the bathroom cleaning out the trash and locked me in the bathroom. I did NOT tell you I was claustrophobic! This ALL occurred at the Milennial Train Station on Monday, September 18, 2022 around 5PM. I had no warning! I have no idea where this email is going! I will like to stop here!

Complaint

There is a worker by the name of Mr.Driver who gives me issues every time hes working & sees me. He goes out of his way to tell me I cant use my phone without headphones even though one occurrence there was no one on the train car except myself & my 2 kids. He has also made move from a car to a completely different one because I was apparently in a quiet car, my children were both asleep and not even making noise. I told him I do not have headphones & that my phone is messed up and I cant hear people very well on a phone call without it being on speaker and placed by my ear.

One of the train conductors who happens to be the supervisor, as shown in the picture attached to the email, in the 12:20pm train headed from Aurora to Chicago on Sunday, 12/31/2017, was very unprofessional during an attempt in requesting for my ticket.My internet connection was not working properly so I was trying to ask for additional time when waiting for the connection to adjust, and after finding out I just had to switch on my internet connection from the settings tab on my phone. Prior to doing so, the train conductor asked if I could come downstairs so he could see the ticket, but I clearly showed him the ticket from the second floor of the train that I was on and told him I was not feeling too well.

The train conductor had an attitude with me by literally using the words, "I do not give a ***" after I told him I felt like I was going to faint. This train conductor is the most unprofessional, disrespectful authority figure I have come across in your METRA services. Ive never had any issues with other train conductors.

Other conductors have been patient in waiting for my internet connection to process efficiently. But the supervisor conductor, as shown in the picture below, was the most unprofessional person ever.He also told me he has been working there for years and that he can never get fired, as a way to attempt to use and take advantage of his authority status.

You should stop for a second and take a look at your own attitude. Stop using your age as an excuse to justify your ignorant behavior.

The only excuse you use for your behavior is age because you hate where you are in your life. You hate yourself. This incident did not have to happen, but you let your low self esteem and your hate for your old age get to you. There are elderly people who accept their existence for a reason.

Because they know that they have lived a beautiful life. Your life was clearly terrible, which is why you hate yourself to this day.

Hope this prunebag is officially terminated as of 2021. Attached pics below so you know who this RODENT is.

Back in 2017, it cursed at me when I told it that my internet connection was not working properly when trying to show my ticket to it. I was not feeling well at the time and felt like I was going to faint, which is why I did not want to go downstairs in the first place, yet it told me to come downstairs near the train doors. After going downstairs and letting this bag use my phone, I told it that I felt like fainting, and the prune stated the words, I dont give a *** where nobody could even hear it say those words. I tried asking it for its information to make a personal complaint against it, but it refused to give me its information.

I then took a picture of the creature and reported it to corporate.

I haven't seen the species ever since. I have been invited to hearing but was too busy focusing on two degrees to make the hearings. But just in case you people see this creature lurking on the Aurora-Chicago BNSF, you will know WHO and WHAT he is.

I had to wait for an hour till the 6:40pm train came because the *** of metra did not announce that the 5:40 was not coming. So I had to wait. As if I really give a *** what happened, they didn't announce anything so I waited. What ? Wait? Like everybody else well F" everybody else. And F" metra. Plus they Don't shut the rowdy kids up on the trains in the evening as I would if I was an officer. BAD SERVICE!!!

Pandemic safety

On the Metra website there is a lot of self congratulations about how they are "getting us back on track" and how "safety is their priority" and how they are "practicing physical distancing." However, I'm sitting on a 4:40 pm departure from OTC that is crowded enough in my car that it is necessary for people to share seats, which isn't a good idea during a pandemic and certainly contradicts the idea of physical distancing. And I'm in the furthest open car toward the engine.

Cars further back are likely even more crowded.

Why is the train so crowded? Because they only have half of the cars open. It appears that there are 3 conductors on the train. They can't be doing this for operational efficiency, as the closed cars are being hauled along anyway.

In spite of the pandemic, it just seems to be too much work for the conductors to walk the whole train in the interest of passenger safety. So much for your focus on safety.

Not all cars fit on every platform. This means a conductor has to be in a certain location to make sure the doors don’t open on that car.

As far as safety goes, how many cars do you feel a conductor should be responsible for? It seems like the lesser, the safer. Metra did away with almost all of their extra conductor jobs (swings) away in the name of saving money. These ticket collectors helped handle the load.

You now have each conductor handling at least three and sometimes up to five cars, collecting tickets, answering questions, and making sure cars that are hanging off of platforms don’t open. Who is to blame, the conductor or carrier?

Poor schedules

I want to complain about he schedule change on the BNSF line. Why why do es the last train for belmont road leave at 6:30 Pm M-F ? Why do hardly any trains stop at Hollywood during the non rush zoo times ? Why do people with children are now forced to walk 1 mile or more to the zoo since hardly any weekday trains stop at the zoo stop? It is very hard with small children to do that . Metra has no concern for its riders

Not enough cars open.

Im currently on the 4:30 west line. For some reason not all the train cars are open. People need to social distance. Its not like the conductor is collecting fares. Last week all the cars were open so people can spread out. If Metra is serious about being safe please ask the conductors to open up the train a little bit more so we can feel safe. Thank you.

Everyday I take Metra from palatine to OTC. Today the Metra doors open only first two cars. Usually they do not open ( after pandemic). I have disability and I have to get to second car from 6th car with great difficulty. I am not sure why? Would like to know

Train went through without stopping

My father and I were waiting to get on the train to downtown from Chicago Ridge on the Southwest service line. The train went through the station without stopping, the engineer clearly saw the both of us. The station announcement did not say it was an Express train.
